By accessing or using TrustMe Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services. Please read this agreement carefully.

1. Introduction
Welcome to TrustMe Platform ("TrustMe," "we," "us," or "our"). TrustMe is a blockchain-based credential management and verification platform that enables organizations to issue, verify, and manage verifiable credentials securely.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms," "Terms of Service," or "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (whether as an individual or on behalf of an entity) and TrustMe Inc. These Terms govern your access to and use of:
- The TrustMe Platform accessible at trustme.dev and related domains
- All TrustMe applications, APIs, SDKs, and developer tools
- Credential issuance, verification, and management services
- Documentation, support resources, and related services
By accessing, browsing, or using any part of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms applicable to specific services.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
Account
Your registered user account that enables access to and use of the Platform and Services.
API
Application Programming Interface, the programmatic interface provided by TrustMe for integration with third-party applications and services.
Credential
A verifiable digital credential, certificate, or attestation issued through the Platform using blockchain-anchored cryptographic proofs.
Content
All information, data, text, documents, graphics, logos, and other materials made available through the Services, including User Content and TrustMe Content.
Organization
An institutional customer (such as an educational institution, employer, government agency, or enterprise) that uses the Platform to issue or verify Credentials.
Personal Data
Information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined under applicable data protection laws and described in our Privacy Policy.
Platform
The TrustMe Platform, including all websites, applications, APIs, infrastructure, and services operated by TrustMe.
Services
All services provided by TrustMe, including credential issuance, verification, revocation, blockchain anchoring, and related features.
Subscription
A paid or trial service plan that grants access to specific features, capacity, or service levels of the Platform.
Third-Party Services
Services, applications, or platforms not owned or controlled by TrustMe that may integrate with or be accessible through the Platform.
User
Any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform or Services, including credential issuers, verifiers, and credential subjects.
User Content
Content that you or your Organization upload, submit, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Platform, including credential data and institutional information.
3. Eligibility & Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility Requirements
To use the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
- Not be barred from using the Services under applicable laws
- Not be located in a country subject to U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country
- Not be listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties
3.2 Account Registration
To access certain features of the Platform, you must create an Account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your registration information
- Not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Not create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
- Not transfer or share your Account with others without authorization
TrustMe reserves the right to refuse registration, suspend, or terminate Accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent or illegal purposes.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials
- All activities that occur under your Account
- Immediately notifying TrustMe of any unauthorized access or security breach
- Using strong passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication when available
4. Use of Services
4.1 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, TrustMe grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
- Access and use the Platform through your Account
- Issue, verify, and manage Credentials in accordance with your Subscription
- Use our APIs and SDKs in accordance with our documentation
- Access and use documentation and support resources
4.2 Service Modifications
TrustMe reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We may update features, change functionality, or introduce new services. For material changes affecting paid Subscriptions, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
4.3 Service Availability
While we strive to provide continuous service availability, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be:
- Available at all times without interruption
- Free from errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities
- Compatible with all devices, browsers, or operating systems
- Accessible from all geographic locations
4.4 Planned Maintenance
We may perform scheduled maintenance that temporarily interrupts service. We will provide advance notice of planned maintenance when reasonably possible. Emergency maintenance may be performed without notice when necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Platform.
5. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Activities
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following activities are strictly prohibited:
Illegal Activities
- •Using the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- •Facilitating fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
- •Creating or distributing counterfeit or falsified credentials
- •Violating export control or sanctions regulations
Security Violations
- •Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other user accounts
- •Circumventing authentication, security, or access control mechanisms
- •Scanning, probing, or testing the vulnerability of our systems
- •Introducing malware, viruses, or malicious code
- •Conducting denial-of-service attacks or similar disruptions
Intellectual Property Violations
- •Infringing copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
- •Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling Platform software
- •Creating derivative works based on TrustMe intellectual property
- •Removing or obscuring proprietary notices or branding
Harmful Content & Conduct
- •Uploading content that is defamatory, obscene, or hateful
- •Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
- •Impersonating others or providing false information
- •Distributing spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional materials
Platform Abuse
- •Using automated systems (bots, scrapers) without authorization
- •Overloading or degrading Platform performance
- •Attempting to manipulate or game platform features
- •Creating accounts through automated or fraudulent means
- •Reselling or redistributing Services without authorization
Privacy Violations
- •Collecting personal data of other users without consent
- •Sharing credentials or account access inappropriately
- •Using the Platform to violate privacy laws or regulations
6. Subscriptions, Fees & Payment
6.1 Subscription Plans
TrustMe offers various Subscription plans with different features, capacity limits, and pricing. Plan details, including:
- Feature availability and service levels
- Credential issuance and verification limits
- API rate limits and quotas
- Support tiers and response times
- Data retention and backup policies
are described on our pricing page and in your service agreement.
6.2 Fees & Billing
Payment Authorization
By providing payment information, you authorize TrustMe to charge your payment method for all fees incurred under your Subscription. You represent that you have the legal right to use the payment method provided.
Billing Cycle
Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, as selected at purchase. Annual subscriptions may be offered at a discounted rate.
Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged at the then-current rate unless you have a locked-in rate guarantee.
Usage-Based Fees
Some features may incur additional usage-based charges (e.g., credential issuance beyond plan limits, premium blockchain networks). These will be clearly disclosed and billed monthly in arrears.
Taxes
All fees are exclusive of taxes, duties, or similar assessments. You are responsible for all applicable taxes, which will be added to your invoice where required.
6.3 Free Trials & Promotional Offers
We may offer free trials or promotional pricing at our discretion. Trial terms will be clearly disclosed at signup. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for a paid Subscription.
6.4 Refunds & Cancellation
Subscription fees are non-refundable except:
- As required by applicable law
- For billing errors or duplicate charges
- At TrustMe's sole discretion on a case-by-case basis
You may cancel your Subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until that date, after which your Account will be downgraded to a free tier (if available) or suspended.
6.5 Fee Changes
TrustMe reserves the right to change fees at any time. For existing Subscriptions, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of price increases. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new fees.
6.6 Payment Disputes
If you dispute a charge, contact us within 30 days at billing@trustme.dev. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in Account suspension.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 TrustMe Ownership
TrustMe and its licensors exclusively own all rights, title, and interest in:
- The Platform, including all software, code, algorithms, and architecture
- TrustMe trademarks, service marks, logos, and branding
- Documentation, designs, interfaces, and visual elements
- All improvements, enhancements, and derivative works
- Aggregated, anonymized data and analytics derived from the Services
No rights are granted to you except as expressly stated in these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by TrustMe.
7.2 Limited License to Users
Your license to use the Platform is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable. You may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute access to the Platform. This license terminates automatically upon termination of these Terms or your Account.
7.3 Trademark Usage
You may not use TrustMe trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent, except as necessary to identify TrustMe as the credential issuing platform (e.g., "Verified by TrustMe") in accordance with our brand guidelines.
7.4 Open Source
Certain components of the Platform may incorporate open-source software. Such software is licensed under its respective open-source license, which may grant you broader rights than this Agreement. Open-source licenses are listed in our documentation and remain subject to their original terms.
7.5 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Platform ("Feedback"), you grant TrustMe a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, incorporate, and commercialize such Feedback without compensation or attribution.
8. User Content & Data
8.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to User Content. By uploading or submitting User Content to the Platform, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use and share the content
- The content does not infringe third-party intellectual property or privacy rights
- The content complies with all applicable laws and regulations
- For credentials issued to individuals, you have obtained necessary consents
8.2 License to TrustMe
To operate the Platform, you grant TrustMe a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to:
- Store, process, and transmit User Content as necessary to provide Services
- Generate cryptographic proofs and blockchain anchors for credentials
- Display credentials to authorized verifiers per your instructions
- Create backups and ensure business continuity
- Use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics and service improvement
This license terminates when you delete content or terminate your Account, except for content shared with third parties or required for legal compliance.
8.3 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy, quality, and legality of User Content
- Obtaining necessary rights, consents, and permissions
- Compliance with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Credential revocation when circumstances require it
8.4 Data Processing
For personal data processed through the Platform, our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. For Organizations processing personal data of credential subjects, a separate Data Processing Agreement (DPA) may apply, establishing TrustMe as a data processor.
8.5 Content Removal
TrustMe reserves the right to remove or disable access to any User Content that violates these Terms, infringes intellectual property rights, or is otherwise harmful or objectionable, with or without notice.
9. Third-Party Services & Links
9.1 Third-Party Integrations
The Platform may integrate with or provide access to third-party services, including:
- Identity providers (SSO, OAuth)
- Payment processors
- Cloud storage and computing services
- Analytics and monitoring tools
- Communication platforms
9.2 Third-Party Terms
Your use of Third-Party Services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. TrustMe does not control and is not responsible for:
- The content, accuracy, or reliability of Third-Party Services
- Third-party privacy practices or data handling
- Security, availability, or performance of external services
- Changes or discontinuation of Third-Party Services
9.3 External Links
The Platform may contain links to external websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only. TrustMe does not endorse and is not responsible for external content. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
10. Security
Security is fundamental to the TrustMe Platform. We implement comprehensive security measures to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of your data.
10.1 TrustMe Security Measures

TLS 1.3 for data in transit, AES-256 for data at rest
HSM Protection
FIPS 140-3 certified hardware security modules for cryptographic keys
Access Controls
Role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication
Monitoring
24/7 security monitoring and incident response

SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and industry best practices
Testing
Regular penetration testing and security audits
10.2 User Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Protecting your account credentials and API keys
- Implementing appropriate security measures in your applications
- Promptly reporting suspected security incidents
- Complying with security best practices and recommendations
- Monitoring access logs and user activity
10.3 Security Incidents
If you become aware of any security breach, unauthorized access, or vulnerability, you must immediately notify us at security@trustme.dev.
TrustMe will investigate security incidents and take appropriate remedial action. We will notify affected users of material security incidents in accordance with applicable laws and our incident response procedures.
10.4 No Absolute Security
While we employ industry-leading security measures, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted through or stored on the Platform. You acknowledge and accept the inherent security risks of internet-based services.
11. Disclaimers
IMPORTANT LEGAL DISCLAIMERS
"AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE"THE PLATFORM AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUSTME DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
- WARRANTIES REGARDING ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SERVICES
- WARRANTIES THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE RESULTS OR OUTCOMES OF USING THE SERVICES
11.1 No Guarantees
TrustMe makes no representations or warranties that:
- The Platform will meet your specific requirements or expectations
- The Platform will be available at all times or in all locations
- Defects or errors will be corrected within any particular timeframe
- The Platform is free from viruses or harmful components
- Data transmission will be secure or not intercepted by third parties
11.2 Third-Party Disclaimer
TrustMe is not responsible for and disclaims all liability regarding Third-Party Services, content, or websites. The availability and functionality of Third-Party Services may change without notice.
11.3 No Professional Advice
The Platform and any content provided are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals for specific advice related to your situation.
11.4 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above disclaimers may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights under applicable law.
12. Limitation of Liability
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TRUSTME, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
- LOSS OF GOODWILL OR REPUTATION
- SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS OR SYSTEM FAILURES
- COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES
- ERRORS, MISTAKES, OR INACCURACIES IN CONTENT OR CREDENTIALS
12.1 Liability Cap
To the extent permitted by law, TrustMe's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the greater of:
- The fees paid by you to TrustMe in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability; or
- One hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00)
12.2 Exceptions
These limitations do not apply to:
- Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law
- Your indemnification obligations under Section 13
12.3 Basis of the Bargain
You acknowledge that the limitations of liability set forth in this Section reflect a reasonable allocation of risk and are a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and TrustMe. The Platform would not be provided without these limitations.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TrustMe, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
Your Use of Services
Your access to, use of, or inability to use the Platform or Services
Terms Violations
Your violation of these Terms or any applicable laws or regulations
User Content
Your User Content, including claims that it infringes or violates third-party rights
Rights Violations
Your violation of intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties
Account Activity
Any activity conducted through your Account, whether authorized or unauthorized
Credential Issuance
Claims arising from credentials you issue, including accuracy, legality, or misrepresentation
13.1 Defense & Settlement
TrustMe reserves the right to assume exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you. You agree to cooperate with our defense and settlement of such claims. You may not settle any claim that:
- Imposes any liability or obligation on TrustMe
- Requires an admission of fault by TrustMe
- Affects TrustMe's intellectual property or business operations
14. Suspension & Termination
14.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your Account at any time by:
- Using the account closure feature in your settings
- Contacting our support team at support@trustme.dev
Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations for fees incurred before termination. Prepaid fees for the current billing period are non-refundable.
14.2 Suspension by TrustMe
TrustMe may suspend your access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You violate these Terms or acceptable use policies
- Your account poses a security risk or threat to the Platform
- Payment is overdue or payment method is declined
- We are required to do so by law or court order
- Your use generates excessive load or disrupts service for others
We will attempt to notify you of suspension and provide opportunity to remedy the issue when reasonably possible. Suspension does not excuse payment obligations.
14.3 Termination by TrustMe
TrustMe may terminate your Account or these Terms:
- For cause (violations, non-payment, security risks) with immediate effect
- For convenience with 30 days' advance notice
- If we discontinue the Platform or Services entirely
14.4 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the Platform immediately ceases
- Your Account and data may be deleted after a grace period
- You remain liable for all outstanding fees and obligations
- Provisions that by their nature should survive (liability, indemnification, etc.) will continue
14.5 Data Retrieval
You may export your data within 30 days of termination using our data export tools. After this period, we may permanently delete your data, except as required by law or legitimate business purposes (e.g., dispute resolution, audit requirements).
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.2 Jurisdiction & Venue
Subject to the arbitration provisions below, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Francisco County, California for any disputes. You waive any objection to venue or inconvenient forum.
15.3 Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Send a detailed description of the dispute to legal@trustme.dev. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 60 days.
15.4 Arbitration Agreement
If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), except as modified by these Terms.
- Arbitration will be conducted by a single neutral arbitrator
- Arbitration will take place in San Francisco, California
- Each party bears its own costs and attorneys' fees, with arbitrator fees split equally
- The arbitrator's decision is final and binding
- Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction
15.5 Class Action Waiver
You agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. This waiver applies to both arbitration and court proceedings.
15.6 Exceptions to Arbitration
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for:
- Intellectual property infringement
- Unauthorized access or use of the Platform
- Violations of acceptable use policies
15.7 International Users
If you are accessing the Platform from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
16. Changes to These Terms
16.1 Right to Modify
TrustMe reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on the Platform with a new "Last Updated" date
- Sending email notification to your registered email address
- Displaying a prominent notice on the Platform
16.2 Effective Date
Changes become effective:
- Immediately upon posting for non-material changes
- 30 days after notification for material changes
- Upon your acceptance for changes requiring consent
16.3 Acceptance of Changes
Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must discontinue using the Services and close your Account before the effective date.
16.4 Version History
We maintain a history of previous Terms versions. You may request historical versions by contacting us at legal@trustme.dev.
17. General Provisions
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable service agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and TrustMe regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
17.3 Waiver
TrustMe's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of TrustMe.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your Account without TrustMe's prior written consent. TrustMe may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets, with notice to you.
17.5 Force Majeure
TrustMe is not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, or internet/telecommunications failures.
17.6 Export Compliance
The Platform may be subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and will not export, re-export, or transfer the Platform in violation of such laws.
17.7 U.S. Government Users
The Platform constitutes "commercial computer software" and "commercial computer software documentation" as such terms are used in 48 C.F.R. 12.212. U.S. Government users acquire rights in the Platform only as provided in these Terms.
17.8 Relationship
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created by these Terms. You may not make representations or commitments on behalf of TrustMe.
17.9 Notices
All notices to TrustMe must be sent to:

17.10 Survival
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive termination of these Terms.
